Search Filters
The search filters allow you to refine your search results by applying filters to the search query. This page provides an overview of the available search filters and how to use them.
Using Filters
Navigate to the search page.
Click on the Filters button to open the filters menu.
Select any number of filters from the menu to refine your results, then click Apply.
Main Filters
Text Search
The Text Search filter allows you to search for specific text within the search results.
Keyword Search Enter terms separated by spaces (e.g.,
distribution mining
). You can add additional separate queries to drill down and further narrow the results.Exact Phrase Enclose the query in quotes (e.g.,
"partnership agreement"
) for precise matches.
Contract Category
The Contract Category filter allows you to filter search results by contract type. All contracts are assigned a general category. When applied to clauses or defined terms, the results will be limited to clauses or defined terms (as applicable) found in contracts of the selected category.
Governing Law
The Governing Law filter allows you to filter search results by the governing law (choice of law) of the contract. Note that not all contracts specify a governing law.
Amendments
The Amendments filter allows you to hide partial amendments from the search results. Amendments modify specific provisions of an existing agreement while leaving the rest of the agreement intact. You may hide amendments to view only complete agreements. Note that amended and restated agreements replace the entire original agreement and therefore are not classified as amendments for these purposes.
Clause Category
The Clause Category filter is applicable to the clause search results allowing you to filter clauses by category. All clauses are assigned a general category.
Defined Term Category
The Defined Term Category filter is applicable to the defined term search results allowing you to filter defined terms by category. All defined terms are assigned a general category.
Duplicates
The Duplicates filters is applicable to the clauses and defined terms search results allowing you to hide duplicate clauses or defined terms from the search results. By default, duplicates are hidden from results.
